Peeling After Microneedling: What to Check Before Adding Products

Peeling can occur after microneedling, but it is not a target or a measure of how well a session worked. Follow the aftercare for the actual procedure or product used, and get advice if a reaction is concerning or worsening.

A reaction is not a results score

The FDA lists dryness and peeling among possible microneedling side effects. Their presence does not tell you whether an individual treatment will produce the cosmetic result you hoped for.

Do not use another person’s peeling photograph as a schedule your skin is supposed to follow. Record what you used and when the reaction started so you can give your provider a clear account.

Check your aftercare before changing your routine

A new exfoliant or additional stamping session is not a way to correct unexpected flaking. Pause further sessions on irritated skin and ask your provider what to use. The current Q.FACE precautions say not to use it on irritated skin or open wounds.

Keep the product instructions available. When asking about a cleanser, moisturizer or active ingredient, share the exact product name and ingredients rather than assuming that every “gentle” or “recovery” formula is interchangeable.

Know when to ask for help

Cleveland Clinic advises contacting a healthcare provider for blistering, bleeding that continues beyond 24 hours, or swelling that persists longer than a week after a clinical procedure. Seek advice sooner for a severe or worsening reaction; those time points are not instructions to wait.

For questions about a Q.FACE kit or missing directions, contact QUINT. For assessment of a skin reaction, contact a qualified healthcare professional.

Q.FACE directions and evidence

Read the Q.FACE directions and precautions and the instructions enclosed with your current kit before use. Explore the ingredients and product details and the individual case study and its limitations. Clinical microneedling guidance does not establish the safety, recovery time or results of a particular at-home kit.
